The 2-Step Collective is a vibrant running community based in Liverpool, founded in 2020 by Nadeem Freeman. It began as a grassroots initiative during lockdown with the aim of creating an inclusive and welcoming space for runners of all levels. Today, it has evolved into a multifaceted collective that goes beyond just running, fostering a culture of mutual support, solidarity, and friendship.
The collective hosts regular group runs that are open to everyone:
Wednesdays at 6:30 PM – Meet at Lost Art Skateshop on Brick Street for the Soundsystem Run.
Saturdays at 9:00 AM – Gather at Bean Coffee in Liverpool ONE for the Saturday Soundsystem Run.
These runs typically cover a 5 km route through the city centre and are designed to be social and inclusive, welcoming participants of all paces.
Beyond regular runs, the 2-Step Collective has collaborated with brands like Reebok and On Running, and has been featured in cultural stories by Huck Magazine and National Museums Liverpool. The collective also engages in community events, such as the Black History Month run tours, which have attracted hundreds of participants.
If you’re interested in joining, you can follow the collective on Instagram for updates and more information. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting out, the 2-Step Collective offers a supportive and dynamic community to be a part of.
