The CELLS Project (Choices, Education, Learning, Lifelong Skills) is a registered charity based in Kirkby, Liverpool, dedicated to crime prevention and youth empowerment across Merseyside. Established in 2009, CELLS focuses on educating children and young people about the serious consequences of crime through outreach, mentoring, behaviour interventions, and support.
The charity’s initiatives include:
Crime and Behavioural Awareness Programmes: Delivered in schools, these sessions teach young people about the consequences of crime through lived experiences.
Mentoring: One-to-one support from trained mentors who are relatable and committed to guiding young individuals.
Fix This Mess (FTM) Youth Club: A safe space for 8–12-year-olds to make friends, have fun, and engage in planned activities.
Itsup2u: A programme for ex-offenders interested in training, volunteering, and reintegration into society.
Lean on Me: A family support group and mentoring for parents and carers concerned about their child’s safety due to criminality in the local area.
CELLS operates from the Tower Hill Community Centre in Kirkby and collaborates with various partners, including the Steve Morgan Foundation, to enhance its impact.
